The first thing that you need to understand when choosing a sauna is the difference between a traditional sauna and a best infrared sauna. One of the main differences between a traditional sauna and an infrared is the heat in the unit. Traditional sauna use temperatures as high as 185 to 195 degrees F, which can overwhelm those who are more sensitive to heat. However, as the heat from infrared saunas enters the body, they can cause more vigorous sweating at a lower temperature of 120 to 150 degrees F.

A traditional dry sauna uses a stove to heat the air while infrared saunas use infrared heaters to emit a specific wavelength of infrared light. The infrared sauna causes the same effects as a traditional sauna with less overall heat required. Humidity is another difference. Unlike traditional saunas, cheap sauna,infrared saunas do not use steam and rely entirely on heat from infrared heaters for the overall effects.

Another difference between a traditional sauna and an infrared sauna is the amount of energy required to operate each unit. Traditional saunas require more overall power to operate, with a typical sauna consuming 6 kW of power compared to the typical 1.6 kW required for the infrared sauna. This means that a traditional sauna costs almost three times as much to operate as an infrared sauna.

Small areas heat up faster than large areas. If you have an infrared  one person sauna consisting of small plates, the sauna will heat up very quickly. With large areas, the heating time is longer, but they give more even heat in the sauna. They are also easier to manage and there are fewer issues with them. The larger the area the better, but for cost and time we recommend something in between to achieve the best balance of efficiency and cost.
