Lose weight and stay slim by monitoring the quality of carbohydrates

The New GI Diet is the culmination of decades of research on weight management and satiety, starting with the work of Canadians Jenkins and Wolever who showed that certain so-called "complex" carbohydrates like bread or potatoes actually cause blood sugar to rise excessively, which is harmful to health and figure. As the WHO advises, we should no longer talk about "complex carbohydrates", but focus on their influence on blood sugar levels. This is the principle of the New GI Diet.

How does it work?

The New GI Diet consists first of all in controlling the quality of the carbohydrates that we ingest: do not eliminate them but choose them according to their capacity to raise the blood sugar level after a meal. This ability to raise blood sugar levels is measured by the Glycemic Index (GI). You can also get easy weight lose ideas by spending time in best infrared sauna.

The glycemic index provides information about the quality of a carbohydrate. Fast carbohydrates that raise blood sugar quickly and sharply have a high GI (>70). Slow carbohydrates, which have little influence on blood glucose, have a low GI (<55). In between are the moderate GI carbohydrates.

When high GI carbohydrates are consumed, the pancreas secretes a large amount of insulin into the bloodstream. Peaks in insulin promote fat storage. This is why the GI diet recommends consuming low-to-moderate index carbohydrates as a priority.

The New GI Diet, accompanied by regular physical activity, aims to limit the peaks of insulin in the blood in order to be able to burn fat, lose weight and stabilize it. "You won't lose water, you won't lose muscle, you'll lose 200 to 300 grams of fat per week, mostly around the waist," says Jennie Brand Miller of the University of Sydney in Australia, one of the pioneers of this way of eating.

The three phases of the diet

There are three levels of the GI system. The duration of each step is variable and depends on the number of kilos to be lost. You can buy portable steam sauna in cheap price for sure.

The first days of the first stage, stage one, are used to start losing weight quickly to be exhilarating enough to make you want to continue. Only foods with a very low GI (<20) are allowed.

The second stage is the destocking stage, and thus the progressive weight loss to the desired weight. At this stage, only foods with a GI lower than 55 can be consumed. Read the infrared sauna reviews in our website.

Once the person has reached the weight he or she has set, the stabilization stage begins. All foods with a GI below 70 are allowed, always giving priority to low GI foods. GIs above 70 must be exceptional.
